Never Have a Heart Attack! Never Have Clogged Arteries!
December 2005
by Ken Savage, DC
Heart disease is one of the leading causes of deaths in the nation. Every single person reading this either has had heart disease or knows someone who does. When we are born, our arteries are open and fully flowing. As time goes on, plaque begins to build silently until we are diseased at some point in our life. When the arteries get to a certain level of clogging, people experience chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, tiredness, poor circulation, cold feet and hands, diabetes, memory loss, mood swings, weight gain, depression, loss of motivation and erectile dysfunction (from clogged arteries to the male sex organs).
Clogged arteries do not happen over night! It's a long time process of poor eating choices, little or no exercise, weight gain, smoking, drinking and yes, continued prescription drug use of any kind. Substances that are not produced naturally in the body, such as pharmaceutical medications, irritate the delicate lining of the blood vessels and advance the clogging process.
One of the biggest deceptions today involves consumers spending billions of dollars on drugs for high cholesterol. The media and medical industry promote fear of high cholesterol and claim that everyone will have it. Most of the cholesterol in our system is harmless and is actually healthy for you.
The main culprits found to be related to clogging arteries include, chlorinated water, hydrogenated oils, trans fats and homogenized dairy products. Hydrogenated oils and trans fats are found in many processed foods. Homogenization process used in dairy products actually makes the molecules so small, they can scar the arteries and make it easy for plaque build up. Whole milk is actually better than skim milk, in that it is not homogenized. Things you can do include to avoid clogging your arteries include: drinking purified water, drinking soy products or eliminating dairy products or drinking whole milk, the way nature intended it, and avoiding hydrogenated oils and trans fats. Even if you have low cholesterol, taking these precautions above will help reduce scarring and irritation in your arteries which can lead to future heart disease.
In addition, increased cardiovascular exercise done on a 4-6 time per week basis will help speed up this corrective process. It takes effort and education to make the proper changes to ensure that we are healthy. You'll find more information on ways to prevent heart disease in the book, "Natural Cures” by Kevin Trudeau.
